On Saturday 12th and 19th of March, the Museum of Computing let visitors explore communication methods from the past. Featuring tin-can telephones, morse code, semaphore and much more, it will be a hands-on event for visitors of all ages.
We tested how far we could communicate with tin-can telephones, and even discovered how to make them work around corners!
The Museum of Computing will be holding a games programming night. Remember the 1980's when the Sinclair Spectrum and Commodore 64 were deadly rivals? This was a time when anybody with a talent for programming could write cool games in their bedroom and make a million!
No programming experience is needed, our resident experts will guide you through the process of creating your dream game.

On Saturday 11th December 2010, we combined the two things we really love, LEGO® and computer gaming!
The highlight of the day was making a giant mosaic of Super Mario from nearly 9000 LEGO tiles! We had an incredibly busy day with people helping to make the mosaic and also guess the number of white tiles used. As well as this, there were a chance to make your own games characters from LEGO bricks and a Mindstorms Robotics programming workshop. Some of the LEGO computer games we played included Indiana Jones, Star Wars and LEGO Racers.
It was such a successful event that we are planning to make this an annual event, it´s going to be bigger and better next year!
